Dublin have won 28 All-Ireland titles (22 in football and 6 in hurling) and hopefully must not be too far from its 30th. Dublin achieved its 20th title way back in 1938 - the last time it won the hurling Championship incidentally. The 28 titles puts us joint 3rd on a national table behind Cork (34) and Kerry (32 - all football) and level with Tipperary. We are clear 2nd for football titles however, 10 behind Kerry but 14 ahead of Galway who are well adrift in third. In 1892 Dublin won its second football title and was the first county to do so. It led in overall football titles till 1941 when Kerry won its 15th All-Ireland. We won the next in 1942 to level the series but have never been able to claw them back since the Kingdom landed its 16th title in 1946. Dublin have also won 10 league titles - 8 in football, 2 in
hurling. Despite our 38 national titles we have only won more than
one title in one year on 2 occasions - in 1958 and again in 1976
when Dublin won both football championship and league.
